How Much Does an SEO Specialist Make in Israel?
When someone asks me how much an SEO specialist makes, the answer really varies.
There are SEO specialists who can charge anywhere between 3,500 NIS and 5,500 NIS plus VAT per project, and there are juniors, people who are just getting started, who charge a lot less and can handle a lot fewer clients. They usually charge somewhere between 2,000 NIS and 5,000 NIS plus VAT.
Naturally, an SEO specialist with a strong reputation in the market, with a strong team behind them, can handle around 100–120 websites, sometimes even more, and make a lot more money.
If we look at the high-tech world, an SEO specialist in tech can earn a global salary of around 15,000 NIS a month. Again, it depends on how strong their reputation is, and they can also make more.
At advertising agencies, they can also reach 20,000–25,000 NIS a month.
But I am less familiar with that side of the market.
I know the freelance world better.
And what I can say is that this is a profitable field.
What really affects how much an SEO specialist makes?
In my opinion, the thing that affects how much an SEO specialist makes the most is the person’s reputation.
If someone is an SEO specialist, has a reputation, has been in the field for many years, has succeeded with different kinds of websites, and brings real knowledge with them, then naturally they will be able to make more.
And there is also this thing that, let’s be honest, the higher their own website ranks in search results, the more their reputation will probably grow.
But not always.
Because there are also people with a very strong reputation in the market who are not necessarily ranking first for every keyword, and still, people know who they are, what they are worth, and what kind of results they know how to bring.
To me, this is one of the strongest factors when trying to understand how much an SEO specialist makes.
But there are other factors too.
For example, how many hours need to go into the project.
There is no way around it. Some websites require a lot more work.
There are websites owned by large organizations.
There are websites owned by tech companies.
There are websites owned by corporations.
There are websites that require many more hours, many more backlinks, much more planning, and much more ongoing maintenance.
Usually, juniors do not take projects like these.
These projects are more suitable for deeper teams, eight to ten people and up.
And usually, the deeper the team, the stronger the results on the ground, and the more experience there is, the more the price changes, and the income changes with it.
Table: What affects an SEO specialist’s income?
| Factor | How it affects income |
|---|---|
| Reputation | The stronger the specialist’s name is, the easier it is for them to charge more |
| Experience | A specialist with more years in the field will usually be able to take on bigger projects |
| Proven results | Someone who has already brought websites to strong results in Google and AI will close deals more easily |
| Type of clients | Large organizations, corporations, and tech companies usually pay more |
| Team depth | A stronger team makes it possible to handle more projects and heavier projects |
| Work hours | The more hours a project requires, the higher the price and the income |
| Sales and client acquisition | A good freelancer does not just know SEO, they also know how to bring in clients |
Employee or freelancer – who makes more?
The income difference is very clear.
Freelancers need to put money aside for themselves.
They need to bring in their own clients.
They need to always stay sharp.
They need to know how to sell, how to give good service, how to get results, and how to keep their business alive over time.
On the other hand, an employee at a company knows they are working on a fixed monthly salary.
They know pension is being paid properly.
They know they have a more structured framework, more stability, and less headache when it comes to bringing in clients and managing a business.
Usually, they make less money than a freelancer, but not always.
What is true is that they are much more limited when it comes to income.
Meaning, an employee will usually end up making around 20,000–25,000 NIS a month, more or less, and that is the range.
A freelancer, on the other hand, can make 60,000, 70,000, 100,000 NIS a month, and even more.
And that is really the big difference.
Table: Employee vs. freelancer in SEO
| Path | Advantage | Disadvantage | Possible income range |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employee | Stability, pension, structure, less headache | Usually more limited income | Roughly 15,000–25,000 NIS a month |
| Freelancer | Much higher earning potential | You need to bring clients, manage a team, and run a business | Can reach 60,000, 70,000, 100,000 NIS a month and more |
How much does a beginner, mid-level, and top-level SEO specialist make?
A beginner SEO specialist can usually charge between 1,500 NIS and 2,000 NIS plus VAT per project.
Usually, they manage around ten clients, meaning around ten websites.
A mid-level SEO specialist can handle around 20 clients and charge between 2,000 NIS and 2,500 NIS plus VAT per project.
And if they are really top-level, they are already working by the hour, with large organizations, corporations, and selected projects, and they can charge from 3,500 NIS plus VAT and much, much more.
It can even reach 10,000–15,000 NIS plus VAT per project.

Table: Income range by SEO level
| Level | What they charge per project | How many clients they handle | Main characteristics |
|---|---|---|---|
| Beginner | 1,500–2,000 NIS + VAT | Around 10 clients | Still learning, building experience, takes almost every project |
| Mid-level | 2,000–2,500 NIS + VAT | Around 20 clients | Already knows more, handles more clients, starting to stabilize |
| Professional | 3,500 NIS + VAT and up to 10,000–15,000 NIS + VAT | Selected projects or a very large system | Reputation, team, large companies, hours, responsibility, and results |
What is the difference between an SEO specialist who makes a little and one who makes a lot?
The difference between an SEO specialist who makes a little and one who makes a lot often comes down to the specialist’s reputation.
There is no way around it. The longer they have been in the market, and the more people they have brought to top results in Google and AI, the more projects they will probably get, and the easier it will be for them to bring in new people.
A beginner, on the other hand, will have a much harder time bringing in early projects.
I was in that situation too.
But as the years went by, there is no way around it, it became easier for people to close deals with me, and I was able to ask for a lot more money.
And yes, people who just finished a course or something like that will struggle to understand that in the beginning, at least, they will run after every project and take every project until they build enough experience, results, and seniority the right way.
That is the difference.
People see the numbers, but they do not see what happens behind the scenes
People need to understand that there is no way around it, an SEO specialist spends half of their time on learning that does not directly make them money.
That means always staying in the market, reading, getting into blogs, posts, understanding what is changing, understanding updates, understanding new tools, and understanding new trends.
And besides that, it is not for nothing that we charge a lot of money for SEO.
We have delivery costs.
We have team costs.
We have backlink costs.
We have maintenance costs.
We have development costs.
There are so many costs.
And yes, it may look very expensive when someone like me gives a proposal of 3,500 NIS plus VAT with commitment.
But you need to understand that in the end, something like 100 hours of our month goes only into understanding, staying updated, and understanding a new market.
And there is no way around it, there are so many updates.
We always have to stay on top of it.
And that is why, if you think it looks shiny and like a lot of money, that is not really true.
There are so many hours of work going into a project, and you need to understand that this is where the cost of SEO comes from.
Table: What people do not see behind SEO pricing
| What people think | What really happens |
|---|---|
| The SEO specialist makes a lot | There are team, backlink, maintenance, development, and tool costs |
| 3,500 NIS is expensive | Sometimes the basic work hours alone already justify that |
| They just promote a website | In reality, there is research, optimization, content, strategy, analysis, and updates |
| It is all pure profit | Not even close. A big part of the money goes back into operating and delivery costs |
| They do not work that much | A lot of hours also go into learning, reading, blogs, tools, and staying updated |
So, is it worth becoming an SEO specialist?
Yes, this is a profitable field.
But people need to understand that it is profitable for those who really stay in it, learn it deeply, build a reputation, get results, and hold on long enough.
This is not a profession of “I took a course and started printing money.”
This is a profession of experience.
This is a profession of constant learning.
This is a profession of responsibility.
This is a profession of service.
This is a profession of results.
And the people who really build themselves the right way can, over time, reach very strong income levels.
Final thoughts
So how much does an SEO specialist make in Israel?
The real answer is that it varies a lot.
There are juniors who will charge 1,500–2,000 NIS per project.
There are mid-level specialists who will charge 2,000–2,500 NIS per project.
And there are professionals who will charge 3,500 NIS and up, and for bigger projects even 10,000–15,000 NIS plus VAT.
An employee can make 15,000–25,000 NIS a month.
A freelancer can reach 60,000, 70,000, 100,000 NIS a month and even more.
But in the end, what decides it is not just whether you are “an SEO specialist.”
What decides it is:
your reputation
your results
your experience
your ability to keep clients
and your depth inside the profession
There are no shortcuts.
The people who are really good, who stay in the field for years, and who truly get results, are usually the ones who make more.
